Intelligent Lane Intervention (LI)
Intelligent LI assists drivers to prevent lane departure
If there is a risk of leaving the driving lane*, the system alerts the driver with a sound and displays an alert on the dashboard. The system also assists the driver to avoid leaving the driving lane by applying the brakes or assists with steering.
How the technology works
- The system detects the white (or yellow) lane markers using a camera located in the upper portion of the windshield.
- If the system determines that the car is getting close to the white (or yellow) lane markers, it alerts the driver with a sound and flashes the LI indicator located within the dashboard.
- The system also applies braking force to each wheel or assists with steering to help the driver return the vehicle to its original lane.
