Donation of Emergency Food, Water and Daily Essentials

Shortages of various daily essentials continued for a prolonged period after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Many concerned Nissan employees asked if we could deliver relief supplies to disaster areas.

Consequently, Nissan organized to collect daily necessities which were stockpiled at company facilities. Food, mineral water and other basic essentials for daily life were donated to Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, the location of one of our engine factories. Donations totaled 3.7 million yen.

Nissan also distributed 700 blankets, 50,000 face masks and 300 containers of antiseptic solution to disaster areas, with the assistance of the Kanagawa Prefectural Government and the Self-Defense Forces.
