The secret to extending lithium-ion battery life
1. Improved cell characteristic
Building on the latest knowledge and technological advancements, we developed new materials that suppress deterioration. This has significantly improved capacity retention over multiple charge and discharge cycles.
2. Lithium-ion battery temperature control system
We developed a dedicated thermal management system for the LEAF to keep the battery at an optimal temperature, reducing heat-related deterioration.
3. Optimized electricity efficiency
Thanks to battery improvements plus improvements to the drivetrain and aerodynamics, we've achieved greater range on a single charge — reducing charging cycles and minimizing battery wear.
