Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention (I-BSI)
Assist the driver to avoid a collision with lane changing by detecting vehicles in the blind spot
When the system detects a vehicle driving in an adjacent lane approaching the rear of the driver’s vehicle - a common blind spot area, it notifies the driver with an indicator light. If the driver then begins to change lanes, the system alerts the driver with a chime and continuously flashes the indicator light while applying slight braking force to help return the vehicle to its original lane.

System operation
- When a vehicle in an adjacent lane is detected from the rear and is in the blind spot of the driver's vehicle, an indicator light near the side mirror illuminates to alert the driver.
- Under the same conditions as stated above (1), if the driver's vehicle nears a lane marker on the same side as an approaching vehicle, the system alerts the driver with a chime. In addition, the indicator light near the side mirror closest to the lane marker flashes to also alert the driver.
- Simultaneously, the system helps return the vehicle to its original lane, assisting the driver to avoid a collision.

System mechanism
The system uses the front-mounted camera on the windshield to detect traffic lane markers, and judges the position of the vehicle within the lane. It also utilizes radar sensors located on the sides of the rear bumper to detect vehicles in adjacent detection zones.
If the system determines that the driver is attempting to change lanes when there is a vehicle detected, it applies braking force or assists with steering to help the driver return the vehicle to its original lane.
