Lane Departure Warning
Lane Departure Warning provides an alert to the driver if they are beginning to leave the traveling lane
If there is a risk of the vehicle leaving the traveling lane unintentionally, the system provides visual and audio alerts to prompt the driver to take action.
System operation
The system visually monitors the left and right side lane markers of the traveling lane. If there is a risk of the vehicle leaving the traveling lane unintended, the system flashes an indicator and sounds a warning chime.
- System function only when lane markings are clearly visible on the road.
- On some models, the steering wheel vibrates (haptic sensation) and a visual alert is provided.
System mechanism
The system uses a front-mounted camera located in the upper portion of the windshield to confirm whether the vehicle is within the white (or yellow) lane markers of the traveling lane.
