SUV
Cars for both city and off-road driving were simultaneously born in mid 1980s when people started driving pickup trucks and 4WD cars to go for recreation. NISSAN Terrano rolled out in 1986 was one of the cutting-edge SUVs.
Although the base was Nissan Pickup D21, it was totally different from traditional 4WD cars. Suspensions were double wishbone for front and 5-link for rear to achieve traveling performance on rough road and comfort on pavement. And it had a form of urban taste designed by NDI (Nissan Design International) in North America. It is still popular in North America market as "Pathfinder".
