NISSAN Van(1937: 80)

First "NISSAN-branded" cars were rolled out in 1937. They were almost as big as American cars while "DATSUN" cars were small cars. Production started at Yokohama Plant with equipment, tools, and drawings handed over from an American manufacturer "Graham-Paige" to realize early launch. The original lineup was passenger cars (70), commercial vans (80), and motorcoaches (90). Vans (80) and motorcoaches (90) were Japan's first cars of semi cab over type with larger luggage room and riding space. They created fresh impression since most vans and buses were of conventional type in Japan.

This car is a delivery van which was introduced at Mitsukoshi Department Store in 1939. It worked until 1962 to prove usefulness and ruggedness.
