Datsun 1000 Sedan (1958 : 210)

Datsun 1000 Sedan 210 was the successor of Datsun Sedan 110 that was developed by Nissan with technologies gained through corporation with Austin Motor in UK. Compact styling was passed down from 110 but curved glass windows and chromium plated side molding/front grille were newly adopted. The output of newly developed engine "C" (4-cyl. in line OHV, 988cc) was 34ps and the max speed reached 95km/h.

Two 210 sedans "Fuji" and "Sakura" participated in "Mobilgas Trial (Round Australia)" in 1958 when full-scale export to US was started. Fuji won and Sakura finished fourth in the under 1-liter class, which demonstrated Datsun's reliability and durability. 210 evolved into 211 with improved stability in 1958.
