Activities in Products

Two core abilities are at work in the production of Nissan vehicles:

  • (1) Outstanding technical abilities to make more eco-friendly vehicles
  • (2) Ability to spread those technologies worldwide

It is Nissan's belief that we can best contribute to the realization of a sustainable mobile society by improving both of these abilities simultaneously.
Nissan provides vehicles that are attractive to a wide range of customers while advancing the development of technologies with low environmental impact, such as electric and fuel cell vehicles. Our conviction is that success in mounting more and more vehicles with technology that places minimal stress on the environment will lead to a lowering of the environmental impact on society as a whole.

Long-Term Goals and Roadmap

Nissan is making aggressive efforts to improve fuel efficiency and develop vehicles that use a variety of clean energies.

Development of Zero-Emission Vehicles

Nissan is developing clean vehicles such as EVs, FCEVs that do not emit any CO2 or exhaust gas during operation.

Raising Fuel Efficiency

Nissan consider reduction of tailpipe CO2 emissions to be a crucial technical issue, and is working to develop technology to improve fuel efficiency.

Reducing Emissions

Taking advantage of top-level catalyst technology, Nissan is reducing the levels of CO, HC, and NOx in exhaust gas emissions.

Reducing VOCs in Vehicle Cabins

Nissan is providing comfortable vehicle cabin environments by reducing the volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Recycling Efforts

Nissan is striving to use limited resources effectively and recycle them efficiently, based on the three approaches of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Reduction of Environment-Impacting Substances

Nissan is working together with suppliers to reduce substances contained in vehicle materials that have an environmental impact.

LCA

Nissan have adopted an LCA method to quantitatively measure the environmental impact over the entire vehicle life cycle.
